Nordex: Further 50 MW follow-up contract in Pakistan

Nordex SE / Key word(s): Incoming Orders

30.08.2013 / 08:45

* Third wind farm for the Fauji Foundation Group
* 20 N100/2500 turbines
* Project to go on line second half 2014

Hamburg, 30 August 2013. Nordex's business in Pakistan is continuing to
gain momentum. FWEL I, the second 50MW contract of five from Nordex
conditional order backlog has now obtained financial close and notice to
commence has been issued. Fauji Foundation and the infrastructure fund Cap
Asia (Malaysia) are the major shareholders again.

The 20 N100/2500 megawatt turbines are to be installed in the province of
Sindh in 2014. This is the same province where the other two wind farms -
'FFCEL' and 'FWEL II' - are located. The close proximity of all three
projects will enable Nordex to leverage synergies such as centralizing the
provision of services under the warranty and O&M contracts. As before,
Nordex will be executing the new project with its local partner Descon
Engineering who will execute the Balance of Plant on EPC basis. An O&M
contract for three years of premium service after expiry of the warranty
period has also been signed for the project

'The experience which we have gained with such complex projects and the
technical adjustments to our turbines for operation in such climatic
conditions are key determinants for our leading market position in
Pakistan,' says Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, a member of Nordex's Management
Board.
