Nordex AG english

Nordex achieving successful start to the new fiscal year Ad-hoc-announcement processed and transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Nordex achieving successful start to the new fiscal year First quarter of 2001/02 fully in line with forecasts / total revenues up 39% / EBIT up 42% Hamburg, February 15, 2002. With total revenues up roughly 39 percent to EUR 96 million (previous year: EUR 69 million) in the first quarter (October 1 – December 31, 2001), Nordex AG got off to a successful start to its new fiscal year. In the same period of time, the Company registered a 15 percent rise in order receipts to approx. EUR 128 million (previous year: EUR 112 million). Order books were worth roughly EUR 171 million as at January 1, 2002. The sharp increase in revenues is primarily due to higher sales of Nordex wind turbines in the German market. At a total of 277 megawatts in 2001, the Company installed roughly 90 percent more wind turbine capacity than in the previous year (147 megawatts). At the same time, Nordex widened its share of the German market from 8.7 to 10.4 percent, spurred by its leading position in the megawatt class. Foreign business accounted for over 50 percent of order receipts, with two large orders from Norway and the Netherlands making a particular contribution. Thus, in a contract worth EUR 40 million, industrial group Norsk Hydro and utility Nuon ordered 16 of the flagship N80/2,500 kW wind turbines for a wind park located at the North Cape. In addition, BP and ChevronTexaco ordered nine N80 turbines worth approx. EUR 22 million for a refinery. EBIT matched expectations, coming in at EUR 2.7 million, up roughly 42 percent over the previous year (EUR 1.9 million).
