Nordex AG english

Ad hoc announcement processed and transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Nordex AG continues growth course First half of 2000/01: sales up 26 %, order receipts up 60 % Hamburg, May 30, 2001. In the first six months of fiscal 2000/2001 (1.10.00 – 31.3.01) Nordex AG increased sales by 26 per cent to approx. EUR 130 mn, compared to the same period in the previous year. For the first time, exports accounted for some 50 per cent of half-yearly sales. The company even succeeded in increasing sales by as much as 60 per cent to EUR 226 mn. As yet no effects from the IPO on April 2, 2001 have been felt in the period under review. At EUR 5.1 mn (minus 1.9 per cent) the company’s earnings before interest and taxes (Ebit) are down slightly on the same period last year as a result of various non-recurring effects. This is a reflection above all of the planned start-up losses in rotor-blade production, moving headquarters to Greater Hamburg and the company establishing its own structures for the IPO. In addition to this, the company is currently investing some EUR 15 mn in an industrial blade production facility and the development of a 5-megawatt offshore turbine. In this way Nordex plans to further improve its technological position in the growth segment of megawatt turbines. For the current year Nordex expects a sales volume of approx. EUR 350 mn. This would correspond to growth of approx. 28 per cent on fiscal 1999/2000. At approx. EUR 13 mn, earnings before interest and taxes will stay at last year’s level. Once the special effects cease to be felt, the company expects margins to increase from the coming year.
