Early schooling was in Amritsar and later in DAV school, Chandigarh, Preuniversity from DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, and B. Com (Hons.) from Government College, Chandigarh.

He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1986, and a Cost Accountant in 1988.

Occupation-

He started his CA practice after qualifying in 1986, and over a span of thirty odd years has built the Competent Group. The group has verticals likeAccounting, Auditing, Consulting, Stock Broking, Commodity Broking, Software products, and Co-working spaces. The group carries out many social service activities through their NGO Competent Foundation which works on the motto - Help Ever, Hurt Never.
