Ministry of Steel (MoS), Government of India vide Order No. S-14011/1/2022-BLA dated 11[th] June 2025 has communicated the appointment of the following officials of Ministry of Steel, as Government Director on the Board of Directors of NMDC Limited with immediate effect, until further orders:

1. Shri Ashish Chatterjee, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor; 2. Shri Abhijit Narendra, Joint Secretary.

It is pertinent to mention that Shri Abhijit Narendra (DIN: 07851224) is already serving as Government Director on the Board of NMDC Limited in terms of earlier Order of Ministry of Steel dated 09.02.2023.

Accordingly, it is now informed that Shri Ashish Chatterjee (DIN - 07688473) has been appointed as the Government Director on the Board of Directors of NMDC Limited w.e.f. 11[th] June 2025. The brief Profile of Shri Ashish Chatterjee is as under:

Shri Ashish Chatterjee is a 1999 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and brings over 25 years of diverse administrative experience across both Central and State Government assignments.

Currently, Shri Chatterjee is serving as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing financial administration and providing strategic advice on matters pertaining to the Steel sector.

Shri Ashish Chatterjee is not related to any other Director on the Board of NMDC Steel Limited. He is not disqualified to act as a Director under the provisions of Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013. Further, he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of order of Court or Tribunal or SEBI or any other such authority.
