Notice is hereby given that Shri Somnath Nandi has been appointed as Director (Technical) on the Board of NMDC Ltd. from the date of his assumption of c harge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 31.12.2022, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier vide Ministry of Steel, Government of India Order No. 3(3)/2019-BLA dated 16.12.2020.
Shri Somnath Nandi has assumed the charge of Director (Technical), NMDC Ltd. on 18.12.2020 (AN). Brief profile of Shri Somnath Nandi is enclosed at Annexure.

Shri Somnath Nandi assumed charge on 18.12.2020 as Director (Technical) of NMDC Limited, a Schedule" A" Government of India Enterprise, with Navratr1a Status, under the Ministry of Steel.
Shri Somnath Nandi is an Engineering Graduate in Mechanical discipline from Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, West Bengal from 1983 batch.
Prior to joining NMDC, he was posted at Kolkata as Executive Director, Growth & EMD of Steel Authority of India Limited.
He joined SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant in the year 1984 as Management Trainee and worked there till 1992.
In 1992, he got shifted to SAIL Durgapur Steel Plant and worked in various positions till 2015 and transferred to IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur for commissioning and stabilizing the new modernized Steel Plant.
In 2018 he was assigned the charge as Executive Director (MM) of Durgapur Steel Plant and finally to head the Environment Management Divisions of SAIL at Kolkata in the year 2019.
He is known for his contribution to the Steel Industry in the manufacturing, engineering, operations, planning & strategy and commissioning & stabilization of new facility.
Shri Nandi has attended Special Management Programme at UM, Bangalore and HEC Paris, one of the world's best business schools and a leader in research and education in management sciences.
