MARATHON RESOURCES ANNOUNCES KEY APPOINTMENTS TO EXECUTIVE TEAM
Marathon Resources Limited (ASX: “MTN”) announced today two new key appointments to its executive team.
Dr Dan Tyson has been appointed Director - Community, Environment & Strategy, while Ms Amy Tucker has been appointed Manager – Water and Energy Strategy.
Dr Tyson and Ms Tucker have joined Marathon to focus on developing the Company’s exploration projects, especially its Mt Gee uranium project in the Northern Flinders Ranges of South Australia.
“We are delighted to have Dan and Amy joining our team,” Marathon Chairman, Mr Peter Williams, said.
“The broad experience and knowledge they both bring to Marathon will play a vital role in the future development of the Company,” he said.
“Key issues surrounding water, energy, community and environment are of the utmost importance to us, and Dan and Amy’ will contribute strongly towards the Company’s ongoing commitment of being at the forefront of leading practices in these areas.”
Dr Tyson worked with Marathon as a consultant prior to joining its executive team.
He has an extensive background in public health research, but in recent years, has increasingly worked in the indigenous sector. Much of his work has focused on indigenous health, economic and community development, and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes for both mining companies and indigenous groups arising from major resource developments.
Dr Tyson is a medical anthropologist and biogeographer with a PhD from the Australian National University. He also has a first class honours degree in biogeography from the University of Adelaide.
Ms Tucker joins Marathon from global professional services company, GHD, where her role included work as the technical editor of a desalination pre-feasibility study report for BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam Expansion.
She also has held positions with Sydney Water Corporation, Australian Water Technologies and Kalahari Mining.
Ms Tucker has a background in infrastructure development, with a particular focus on potable water and recycled water projects.

Ms Tucker holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales / University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons), from University of Sydney.

Marathon is a minerals exploration company focused on the development of Mt Gee, one of Australia's largest undeveloped uranium deposits.
The Mt Gee project is located within the Paralana Mineral System of South Australia, a uraniumrich state which is home to the world's largest uranium deposit at Olympic Dam.
