4 April 2011 ASX Announcement ASX Code: TPR

TIMPETRA COMMENCES SECOND PHASE DRILLING PROGRAM

Timpetra Resources Limited (ASX:TPR) (“Timpetra”) is pleased to announce the commencement of the second phase of drilling and exploration at Timpetra’s Lockington Project, located at the northern end of the Ballarat-Bendigo gold corridor in Central Victoria.

Macquarie Drilling Pty Ltd has been appointed as drilling contractor and will commence diamond drilling today on the first of eight holes along four delineated sections. The first hole will be collared in the central portion of the Lockington South Prospect, drilling at 60 degrees to the East.

The Company’s working thesis for the Lockington Project (“Lockington Model”) is that the deposition of gold in shoots may be located where the splays from the interpreted Lockington Fault intersect the synclinal fold at an angle that creates zones of strong fracturing suitable for the development of areas of gold mineralisation. In this model, long horizontal mineralised shoots develop close to the Lockington Fault, running north and south.

The Lockington Model is based on the results of the first phase of exploration work performed by Gold Fields Australasia Pty Ltd, which included over 100,000 metres of drilling and extensive geophysical and geochemical work. The Model is further supported by the fact that the host rocks, geological structures, gold mineralisation and quartz veins and other relevant geological features are very similar to those at the Fosterville Mine, approximately 50km south of the Lockington Project. The Fosterville Mine is a profitable mine that produces approximately 100,000 ounces of gold per annum and has a total endowment of 2.5 million ounces.

The Board believes that these similarities suggest the potential of a significant ore body located near the Lockington Fault. The commencement of the exploration work is the first phase of a staged program of diamond drilling to test and confirm the Lockington Model.

Timpetra Managing Director Dion Cohen said: “Following our successful capital raising, I am proud to say that the team has worked diligently in the time since the close of the offer to ensure all exploration tenements were transferred and necessary regulatory approvals are in place. We are also pleased to appoint Macquarie Drilling, who are very experienced drillers in the Victoria region, and look forward to working with them in this exciting phase of the project.”
