LINK Arkitektur AB wins contract designing new buildings within advanced healthcare
Region Skåne has awarded LINK Arkitektur AB a contract for the construction of
the new hospital buildings in Malmø, Sweden. The winning architectural team has
been awarded a contract for the pre-design that includes all architectural
disciplines. The pre-design phase will begin during the third quarter of 2023
and last for approximately 2 years. The contract includes options for detailed
design and follow-up in construction phase. The value of the contract to the
Multiconsult group is approximately NOK 33 million (NOK 80 million including
options).
The winning team consists of LINK Arkitektur AB, as general architectural
consultant with responsibility for the healthcare buildings, Wingårdh
Arkitektkontor Aktiebolag, with responsibility for urban planning and Sydväst
arkitektur & landskap AB, with responsibility for landscape. In total, the new
buildings will consist of approximately 65 000 square meters and will include
among other healthcare areas; psychiatry, habilitation and palliative care.
The hospital is expected to be completed in year 2034.
Over the past decade, LINK Arkitektur has designed over 2.5 million square
meters of hospitals in Scandinavia. Currently working with Västerås Emergency
Hospital and Växjö Emergency Hospital, two of Sweden's largest hospital
projects, as well as the new Rikshospitalet in Oslo, Hammerfest Hospital and
Drammen Hospital in Norway. The project portfolio of hospitals also includes a
patient hotel and a new wing building at Rigshospitalet Copenhagen, a multi
award-winning project.
