Multiconsult to deliver consultancy services in a significant contract for E6 between Ranheim and Værnes

Nye Veier has chosen Acciona Construccion S.A, Leonard Nilsen & Sønner, Acciona

Mantenimiento de infrastructuras S.A. and Multiconsult for the EPC contract of

approximately NOK 4 billion, developing and constructing the E6 between Ranheim

and Værnes. The project is loacated in the municipalities Trondheim, Malvik and

Stjørdal in Norway, and Multiconsult is to deliver all engineering services. The

contract value for Multiconsult is significant, but still under negotiation.

The contract is now in the clarification phase and will be signed in the end of

September 2018. After approximately one year of optimisation and time allowance

for new approvals to parts of the zoning plans the construction phase is planned

to begin by mid-2019 and to be finalised in 2024. Multiconsult is the only

engineering consultant and will deliver new zoning plans as well as detailed

design throughout the construction phase.

"We are very proud to reach the top in a competition where expertise and

performance is heavily emphasized. Projects of this kind and size are of great

importance for Multiconsult and we are excited to get started and work closely

with Acciona and Nye Veier to optimise and execute this project for years to

come", says Christian Nørgaard Madsen, CEO of Multiconsult.

E6 Ranheim-Værnes will be built as a traffic-safe four-lane highway, including

four new tunnels as well as upgrade of existing three tunnels. The route is

planned with a 110 km/h allowed speed limit.

The choice of preferred bidder is subject to standstill period, which expires on

9 August 2018.
