Multiconsult wins new hydropower contracts in Tanzania

Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) has selected Multiconsult

Norge AS with Norplan Tanzania Ltd (49% owned) and Tanzania Photomap Ltd as

subcontractors, to provide consultancy services for the Rumakali Hydropower and

Transmission Line Project and for Ruhudji Hydropower and Transmission Line

Project in Tanzania. The total contract value for Multiconsult will be

approximately NOK 55 million.

Work will begin immediately and is planned to be completed in Q2 2021.

The United Republic of Tanzania through TANESCO will fund the review and update

of the feasibility study, conceptual design and preparation of tender documents

and conducting environmental and social impact assessment study for the proposed

222 MW Rumakali Hydropower plant and transmission line and for the proposed 358

MW Ruhudji Hydropower plant and transmission line.
