Thorbjørn N. Rasmussen joins MT Højgaard as COO

As of 1 October 2009, Thorbjørn N. Rasmussen, 43 years, will be appointed MT Højgaard's new COO for Civil Works and International, which at the same time will be consolidated into a new business area: Civil Engineering.

Thorbjørn N. Rasmussen will head an area that MT Højgaard anticipates will come into strong focus in the future.

• Our civil works and special competences are increasingly in demand abroad, and so it makes good sense that we also internally consolidate the knowledge and the individuals who are working with foreign and Danish civil works activities. With his international experience, Thorbjørn is the right man to bring these areas together and further advance our development in this field. I am very much looking forward to the collaboration, says Kristian May, President and CEO of MT Højgaard.

Thorbjørn N. Rasmussen comes from a position as director of Vestas in the Asia Pacific area. He has been employed for 14 years in Vestas and has held directorial positions in Vestas Asia Pacific A/S as well as in Vestas International Wind Technology A/S for six years. In August last year he and his family chose to return to Denmark, and since then he has implemented a successful turnaround for Netek IR Systems A/S, of which he is a co-owner.

From 1 October, Thorbjørn N. Rasmussen becomes a member of MT Højgaard's Leadership Team, consisting of senior management, HR and business development.
