MOTA-ENGIL SIGNS AN AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP THE NEW BUGUSERA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN RWANDA

MOTA-ENGIL S.G.P.S., S.A informs that a Joint-Venture in which MOTA-ENGIL ENGENHARIA &CONSTRUÇÃO ÁFRICA, SA ("MOTA-ENGIL AFRICA") has a 75% stake signed today an agreement to develop the new "Bugusera International Airport" in Rwanda, subject to Financial Close.

The Agreement includes the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the "Bugusera International Airport" for a period of 25 years, with an option of 15 years extension, and has an initial investment in Construction of 418 million USD (approximately € 375 Million].

The new Airport will have an initial capacity of 1.7 Million passengers, and will expand subsequently upon traffic milestones being reached. The construction contract which is to be performed 100% by MOTA-ENGIL AFRICA is a fast-track construction contract, expected to be concluded in December 2018.

It is anticipated that relevant international investors will adhere to the project, allowing the Financial Close to be reached at the latest by 30th June 2017.

The project is part of an ambitious investment Program of the Rwanda Government to establish Kigali as a Tourist and Business Conference destination, as well as the hub for the Rwanda Air. This investment comes as an extension of the acquisition by Rwanda Air of new airplanes, and its aggressive growth plans, to be a leader in the Commercial Airlines Business in Africa.
