MOBOTIX AG: MOBOTIX Continues to Grow

With a turnover growth of 56% in the first quarter of the new fiscal year
2007/2008 (July to September), the approximately 40% average compound
annual growth rate (CAGR) of the past three fiscal years was exceeded
significantly. In the same quarter, the 1 Megapixel camera sensors were
replaced by the 3 Megapixel sensors so that as of November, all MOBOTIX
cameras will ship out with the new 3 Megapixel sensors, at the same price
as before. Thanks to the high resolution, far fewer cameras are needed in a
security application as compared to traditional systems. With the
decentralized intelligence and software in the MOBOTIX cameras, an
installation will require only around 1/10th of the servers for recording
otherwise used, which gives MOBOTIX systems a competitive edge regarding
cost efficiency.
By own account, MOBOTIX is known worldwide as the only company whose
surveillance cameras not only deliver high-resolution single images, but
also high-resolution streaming video in Megapixel quality, and therefore,
record 30-times more detail than an average analog video system. This is
thanks to the MOBOTIX-developed MxPEG video codec that offers many
advantages for live cameras over MPEG4. MxPEG has already been integrated
by many well-known video software manufacturers.
