Quarterly Activities Report for the Period Ended 30 September 2015

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Assays were received from the April 2015 panned-concentrate, stream sediment sampling program at the Heemskirk Tin Project.

  • Eight of the 49 new samples returned values over 1% tin, with the highest being 6.9% tin (in the panned concentrate). A further eight samples returned values between 0.5% and 1.0% tin.

  • Re-analysis of the earlier 2012 sampling also returned values up to 2.8% tin.

  • MinRex is engaged in the proposed acquisition of all of the share capital in Hello Real Estate Limited.

  • At the end of September 2015 the Company had available cash of $1.363 million.

About MinRex

MinRex Resources NL (“MinRex”) is an exploration company, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, with its present focus being the exploration of gold, base metal and tin projects in Western Australia and Tasmania. The Company is also actively pursuing the proposed transaction to acquire all of the share capital in Hello Real Estate Limited (Hello).

MinRex currently holds two projects, the Deflector Extended Gold Project at Gullewa in Western Australia and the Heemskirk Tin Project in Tasmania (Figure 1). MinRex’s Deflector Extended Gold Project is along strike from Doray Minerals Limited’s Deflector Gold Project, where construction is underway on new plant and facilities for the recommencement of mining and treatment, in 2016.

Heemskirk Tin Project

The Heemskirk Tin Project (E18/2011) is in a remote known tin-bearing area, on the north-western coast of Tasmania, to the WNW of the town of Zeehan (Figure 2). MinRex has been exploring the Heemskirk Tin Project for tin and tungsten mineralisation through 2012-15.

Figure 2: Overview of part of MinRex’s Heemskirk Tin Project in Tasmania (E18/2011)

In 2012, rock chip and stream sediment samples (23 samples) were collected from multiple small deposits of tin, tungsten and base metals in the granitic rock sequences in the area. The same year, a 30 sample, panned stream sediment sampling program was also completed in the Area A quadrant (Figure 6). In the June Quarter 2015, this panned stream sediment sampling was continued, with the collection of some 49 samples from the Area B and C quadrants (Figure 6).

Figure 3: Granite Creek (sampled in 2015) in the Heemskirk Tin Project in Tasmania

The 2012 and 2015 field work included extensive field surveys locating, examining and sampling historic workings and geology. The area contains many small, but rich, tin oxide bodies associated with various vein types (Figures 4 and 5). Many old workings were located and examined, with these generally thought to date from between 1876 and 1900. Vein hosted and replacement mineralisation was noted at the McGuinness and Iron Blow workings and a large area of alteration was seen immediately to the west of South Gap Creek. These areas may have the potential to be associated with larger mineralised systems.

Figure 5: Old Tin Workings seen during the 2015 sampling at Heemskirk

The 49 new panned stream sediment samples from Areas B and C, collected in 2015, were submitted to the Bureau Veritas Laboratory in Perth, as the earlier 30 samples from Area A had been. In case the original assays on the first samples had understated their contained tin values, due to cassiterite, the main tin-bearing mineral, being extremely refractory and hence difficult to dissolve with an acid digest; the new samples were analysed by fused bead laser ablation – which does not require an acid digest. The residual samples (pulps) from the initial 30 panned stream sediment samples (and 23 rock chip/stream samples) were also reanalysed using this same method – which is newly installed at the Bureau Veritas Laboratory.

It was found that the new analyses were of a higher-grade for tin, with the reanalysis of the initial 30 panned stream sediment samples returning tin grades nearly 90 times higher than the initial assays. Of the total 79 samples from Areas A, B and C, 11 have values over 1% tin and another 11 have values between 0.5 and 1% tin, for a total of 22 (or 28%) of the samples being over 0.5% tin. The samples are panned concentrate samples and are therefore higher grade than the actual in-situ stream sediments; nonetheless, it is thought

that the higher grade samples will be directly relatable to the bedrock areas with the highest distribution of contained tin-minerals. A plan showing the 22 assays over 0.5% tin has been prepared and is included below as Figure 6. The full table of assay results, for all 79 panned stream sediment samples (2012 and 2015), is also included below as Table 1.

Deflector Extended Gold Project

MinRex’s Deflector Extended Gold Project (E59/1657) lies about 5km to the north-east of the Deflector Gold Project at the Gullewa Mining Centre.

No work was completed at the Deflector Extended Gold Project during the current period, following the recent successful soil sampling program which demonstrated a concurrence of the highest copper and arsenic values, the geological contact and a possible fault zone, all within the same structure as the nearby Deflector deposit (Figure 7).

Further exploration of these projects are on hold until shareholders are given the opportunity to vote on the proposed acquisition of all the of the share capital in Hello Real Estate Limited at the Annual General Meeting on 23 November 2015.

Corporate

As at 30 September 2015, the Company had available cash of $1.363 million.
