Minrex Strengthens Board, appoints Mr Robert Edwards as Non-Executive Chair

Minrex Resources Limited (“Minrex” or the “Company”, ASX: MRR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Edwards as Non-Executive Chair of the Company, following the commencement of drilling at the Barje Deposit within its flagship Tlamino Gold Project in southern Serbia.

Robert brings more than 30 years of experience across the global resources sector, spanning production mining, new business development, equities research, investment banking and board governance across numerous markets and commodity groups. He combines strong financial and strategic capabilities to drive both organic and inorganic growth with a thorough understanding of the commercial drivers shaping resource companies across jurisdictions and the full mining lifecycle.

Robert began his career in South Africa in production mining and new business development, before joining HSBC as a precious metals equities analyst within the award-winning HSBC Global Mining team. He subsequently relocated to Russia, where he was instrumental in transforming Renaissance Capital from a niche, single-country investment bank into a leading resource-focused boutique operating across the CIS, Africa and Asia. Over a decade at the firm, he rose to Chair, Mining and Metals, overseeing all investment banking and principal investment activity across the mining, metals and fertiliser sectors. After leaving Renaissance Capital, he served as Senior Advisor to the Royal Bank of Canada (Europe) Investment Banking Division, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and senior client coverage.

Robert has served on the boards of resource companies with assets across Russia, Africa, Asia and Europe. He is currently Lead Independent Director of NYSE-listed Lifezone Metals Limited and a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed Sandfire Resources Limited, a copper and zinc producer with operations in Spain, Botswana and the USA.

His previous directorships include AIM-listed gold developer Chaarat Gold Holdings Limited (to August 2024); Executive Chair of critical metals explorer and developer Bluejay Mining Plc, dual-listed on London's AIM and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (to December 2023); MMC Norilsk Nickel (MOEX-listed, 2013–2022), the world's leading producer of nickel and palladium and a major producer of copper and platinum; TSX-listed phosphate miner GB Minerals Limited, until its sale to Itafos in 2017; and Sierra Rutile Ltd, where he was Independent Chair until its US$285 million acquisition by Iluka Resources in 2016. Robert has extensive board committee experience across risk, strategy, audit, corporate governance and ESG.

Robert graduated from the Camborne School of Mines with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mining and holds both Mine Managers and Mine Overseers certificates of competency (South Africa). He is a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.

Glenn Whiddon, Non-Executive Director commented:

“The appointment of Robert Edwards as Chair marks an important step in Minrex’s recent evolution. Robert brings exactly the calibre of international resources and capital markets experience the Board sought as we advance Tlamino through its next phase.

With drilling now underway at Barje, a fully funded program ahead of us and a high-grade gold-silver asset in Tlamino, we have both the leadership and assets to deliver real value for shareholders this year, and the Board is excited about what lies ahead. On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Robert and look forward to working alongside him as we convert the strong foundation built through the Electrum merger into tangible value for shareholders.”

Robert Edwards, Non-Executive Chair commented:

“I am pleased to join Minrex as Chair at a pivotal point in its development. Minrex is fully funded, focused and, I believe, on the cusp of a significant value inflection. Tlamino is the kind of project that comes along rarely and commencing drilling at Barje is a meaningful first step towards realising said value.

MINREX RESOURCES

I don't undertake such a role lightly, yet what attracted me was the quality of the asset base and the people behind Minrex. I look forward to working with the Board, management and our team on the ground in Serbia to realise the full potential of these assets for shareholders.
