M&G plc Shareholder Communications

Dear Shareholder

We are taking the opportunity to contact all shareholders who currently receive our shareholder communications by post. The purpose of this letter is to ask our shareholders how they would like to receive their M&G plc shareholder communications, namely the Annual Report and Accounts, Notice of Meeting and other shareholder circulars, in the future.

We prefer the use of our website (mandgplc.com) wherever possible as it has many advantages including you receiving communications in a timely and cost effective manner as well as aligning with M&G plc's commitment to working towards a safer, greener and cleaner planet for future generations. You may, of course, continue to receive our communications by post if you wish.

You now have the following three choices:

Receive email notifications informing you when shareholder communications are available on our website.	Receive paper notifications informing you when shareholder communications are available on our website.	Receive paper copies of shareholder communications by post.
To choose this option, please visit shareview.co.uk to register for a 'Shareview Portfolio' and select 'electronic' as your preferred method of delivery of any M&G plc communications.*	To choose this option, no further action is required. We will notify you by post when new shareholder information is available on our website.	To choose this option, please tick the box on the tear off election form below and return it to our registrar, Equiniti in accordance with the notes overleaf.

*In order to register you will need your Shareholder Reference Number, which can be found on the tear off election form below.

Shareholder Communications – frequently asked questions

Why are we being given this choice?

The Companies Act 2006 includes provisions regarding shareholder communications which allow us to offer you a choice in how we communicate with you.

What are my three options?

Your options are as follows:

• Option 1 to be notified by email that documents are available on the website
• Option 2 to be notified by letter that documents are available on the website (this is the default choice)
• Option 3 to continue to receive paper documents by post

Why should I change to electronic communications?

Communicating with you via our website is the most timely and cost effective manner of communication and aligns with M&G plc's commitment to working towards a safer, greener and cleaner planet for future generations. If you elect for shareholder communications on the internet, you will be able to access them on the day of publication rather than having to wait for them to arrive by post.

What do I need to do if I want to be notified by email that documents are available on the website.

You will need to register for electronic communication via Shareview, a secure internet based platform provided by our Registrar, Equiniti. Just go to shareview.co.uk and follow the 'Register' link in the top left corner. You will need your Shareholder Reference Number, which is provided on the attached form, select 'electronic' as your preferred method of delivery of communications. You will then receive an email each time a shareholder document is placed on our website, giving you full details of where and how to access it.

I want to continue to receive hard copy documents in the post, what should I do?

Please tick the box on the reverse, tear off the slip and put it in the post. You do not need to put the slip into an envelope, but should you wish to please use the following address: FREEPOST RTAR-LYSU-ARBH, Equiniti, Aspect House, Spencer Road, Lancing BN99 8HX.

Can I change my mind?

Yes, you can change your mind at any time by contacting Equiniti using the contact details provided below.

What if I choose to receive electronic communications but would still like to receive a paper version of a particular document?

You can ask us for a paper copy of any document at any time by contacting Equiniti using the details below.

What equipment do I need to receive website communications?

You will need an internet enabled device with web browser software. In addition you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website.

Are there any exceptions to electronic communications?

There may be times when M&G plc needs, or considers it desirable, to send documents or information to you in hard copy rather than via the website, in which case we reserve the right to do so.
