RETIREMENT OF CHAIRMAN

MetroCoal Limited (ASX-MTE) regrets to advise that Mr David Barwick will retire as Chairman of the Company and as a Director, effective 30 June 2012.

“My decision to resign is for personal and family reasons and has no reflection on the direction of the Company,’’ Mr Barwick said.

“It has been a pleasure to be a part of MetroCoal’s successful listing on the ASX and to be a part of the growth of the Company and team. I wish MetroCoal a successful future,’’ he said.

The MetroCoal Board thanked Mr Barwick for his outstanding contributions as Company Chairman.

A process to identify a suitable replacement for Mr Barwick will begin immediately with the intention of selecting a new Chairman before 30 June 2012.
