STEPHEN EVERETT APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF METROCOAL
MetroCoal Limited (ASX-MTE) announced today the appointment of experienced mining executive Stephen Everett to the position of Independent non-executive Company Chairman.
Mr Everett brings to MetroCoal more than 40 years of Board and management experience in the resources and construction industries, holding senior positions with both publicly-listed and private companies, as well as Government Development Boards.
He is currently also Chairman of Global Resources Corporation Limited (ASX) and IronRidge Resources Limited, and has also served as Chairman of Australian Solomons Gold (TSX), JMS Engineering/JJ McDonald & Sons and BeMaX Resources limited (ASX) as well as a Director of Queensland Coal Mine Management (QCMM).
MetroCoal Acting Chairman, Lindsay Ward, said Mr Everett’s resource project development and coal industry experience would be a major asset for the company.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Stephen as Chairman of MetroCoal,’’ Mr Ward said.
“His proven track record in bringing major resource projects to production will be a significant advantage for MetroCoal with our key projects Bundi and Columboola on track for initial development. We look forward to Mr Everett working with the Board and management of MetroCoal to maximise shareholder value from the Company’s Surat Basin coal resources”.

Mr Barwick’s retirement also means that only two MetroCoal Directors now also serve on the Board of its major shareholder, Metallica Minerals Limited (ASX-MLM).
