Half-year figures
M.A.X. Automation AG achieves another significant improvement in group
sales and earnings in the first six months of the year
Düsseldorf, August 1, 2008 – M.A.X. Automation AG is continuing its growth
course: In the first half of this year, the international automation
specialist generated preliminary consolidated sales of EUR 112.7 million.
This is an increase of 9.0% year-on-year (first half of 2007: EUR 103.4
million).
Preliminary group earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) were EUR 8.7
million. This figure is on a par with last year – despite overproportional
earnings growth in the first six months of 2007 and massive price increases
for some raw materials. Group net profit was significantly up: As a result
of the utilization of a tax loss carryforward by M.A.X. Automation AG, the
consolidated group realized one-time special income of EUR 2.1 million,
among other things. Overall, group net profit rose to EUR 7.6 million,
following EUR 4.9 million the previous year (up 53.8%).
Consolidated order intake also developed very positively: It increased by
14.0% to EUR 122.5 million in the first half of the year (first six months
of 2007: EUR 107.4 million).
The group's dynamic development is mostly due to the continuing great
demand for automation solutions in environmental technology and industrial
automation, the company's core business segments. The Management Board
expects to be able to continue the group's revenue and earnings growth in
full fiscal 2008 on the basis of its existing investment portfolio.
