Company Announcement pursuant to the Capital Markets Rules of the Malta Financial Services Authority

The following is a Company Announcement issued by MAPFRE Middlesea p.l.c, pursuant to the Capital Markets Rules of the Malta Financial Services Authority.

Further to the Company Announcement dated 19 December 2023 (MMS 362) wherein MAPFRE Middlesea p.l.c ('the Company') advised that Mr Jose Ramon Alegre was to resign from his position as Director as from 1 January 2024, the Board of Directors has by resolution dated 23rd February 2024 co-opted Mr Eduardo Perez de Lema to the Board as a non-Executive Director in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company.

Mr Perez de Lema's appointment is intended to be with immediate effect as from the date of the said resolution but remains subject to regulatory approval.

Mr. Perez de Lema is a Graduate of Business Management and Administration from the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He joined the Underwriting Area of MAPFRE RE in 1993, later moving to the Retrocession and Risk Management Department. In 2005 he was appointed Assistant General Manager reporting to the General Manager and three years later he was appointed Deputy General Manager. In 2011 Mr Perez de Lema was appointed General Manager, reporting directly to the CEO of MAPFRE RE and between 2015 and 2023 he was the CEO and Chairman of the Management Committee of MAPFRE RE.

Currently, Mr Perez de Lema is the CEO of the International Insurance Unit in MAPFRE, Director of MAPFRE S.A. and a Member of the Executive Committee of MAPFRE S.A., Chairman of MAPFRE Global Risks, Director of MAPFRE Internacional, Director of MAPFRE RE and a Trustee of Fundacion MAPFRE.

There are no other matters concerning Mr Perez de Lema that require disclosure in terms of the Capital Markets Rules.
