First Production Mould Trial Success

Safety Medical Products Limited (SMP) is pleased to announce the successful production trial of the first of its two moulds.

The SaddleLock mould that was completed on Tuesday 31^st October performed exceptionally well.

The short trial run of 3,000 SaddleLocks verified the predicted output of 95million parts per year will easily be met and could even be exceeded when fitted to the faster machinery that will be used when full production commences.

Inspections carried out this week of all the finished SaddleLocks revealed 100% compliance to our specifications and is a credit to the tool builders and moulders, JCV Tooling Pty Ltd & Quality Plastics Pty Ltd.

Final polishing is now being completed on the second mould which is the Sleeve mould, with trials to be carried out early next week.

Upon successful completion of the second trial, SMP will order 5million parts of each to be moulded in readiness for the assembly trials expected to commence later this year ahead of the installation of the equipment into the Exelint Facility in South Korea.

When fully operational the moulds will be able to produce approximately 95million of each of the two components per year available to be retrofitted to existing standard Exelint Insulin Syringes, converting them into the SecureTouch Retractables.

Accordingly the company will be in a position to pursue additional sales to the minimum initial sales commitments of Exelint, due to commence at the rate of 25 million units in the first year upon readiness of the production line.
