Mach7 secures significant licence agreement with U.S. hospital

  • Leading U.S. hospital enters into 5-year software licence agreement with Mach7

  • Revenue to be generated from licencing, implementation and support activities

  • Opportunities to grow licence fee revenue over the term of the agreement

  • Mach7 to form centerpiece of the hospital’s IT strategy

  • Agreement announced at annual RSNA radiology conference in Chicago

3D Medical Limited (ASX:3DM) ( 3DM or the Company ) is pleased to announce that Mach7 Technologies ( Mach7 ) has entered into a Software Licencing Agreement ( Agreement ) with Arizona-based Yuma Regional Medical Centre ( YRMC ) to provide the Mach7 Enterprise Imaging Platform for an initial term of 5 years.

3DM and Mach7 are in the process of merging which will see Mach7’s best-in-breed healthcare IT join with 3DM’s emerging healthcare technology in the areas of 3D printing, holograms and related software.

YRMC is a not-for-profit hospital providing medical care to communities in southwestern Arizona. With more than 2000 staff and 300 doctors, YRMC operates a 406-bed facility and will initially deploy the Mach7 software solution to further enhance patient care delivery in the areas of radiology and cardiology.

As is common under a commercial transaction of this type, the pricing information remains confidential. However, Mach7 will generate fees from software licencing, installation and customisation of the Enterprise Imaging Platform along with income for providing ongoing support services over the initial 5-year term.

Additionally, Mach7 will generate revenue from the migration of YRMC’s legacy medical image data into Mach7’s archive and Mach7 will be entitled to additional licence fees over the term of the Agreement where there is an increase in the volume of medical studies transacted over the Enterprise Imaging Platform beyond agreed milestones.

The Mach7 Enterprise Imaging Platform will be the centrepiece of YRMC’s IT infrastructure as they migrate toward a deconstructed PACS (Picture Archive Communication System) model.

The Mach7 software solution was adopted by YRMC to eliminate image acquisition and distribution wait times that had crippled their former PACS-centric workflow and to provide enhanced integration and access to all medical imaging data across departments, facilities and geographies.

While initially being deployed for YRMC in radiology and cardiology, the Mach7 Enterprise Imaging Platform will be evaluated by YRMC for use in pathology, wound care and ophthalmology to seamlessly access imaging in a single patient record. Adoption across additional clinical departments will likely increase the volume of medial image data transacted across the Mach 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform and deliver additional revenue.
