IMPORTANT UPDATE AND SHARE PURCHASE PLAN EXTENSION
Dear Shareholder,
Update on Joint Venture Entity (“JVE”)
As announced on September 21[st] 2009 [(1)] Safety Medical Products Limited (“SafetyMed”; ASX Code SFP) signed a letter of intent to establish a Joint Venture Entity with a major Hungarian Medical Products Manufacturer, Dispomedicor Zrt (‘Dispomedicor”).
This original proposal was to take the form of a new Hungarian based entity in which SafetyMed and Dispomedicor hold equal share, with equity partners also sought to partly fund the project.
Further discussions have since taken place and a new arrangement has been proposed by Dispomedicor whereby SafetyMed will have the opportunity to directly purchase up to a 40% stake in Dispomedicor.
This potential new arrangement has several significant advantages over the previous proposal and preliminary due diligence has begun.
The extension of time of the Share Purchase Plan (“SPP”) will allow the company to further investigate both options and keep shareholders fully informed of the final direction prior to closing the SPP.
Yours sincerely
