Maritime throughput and revenues in January – March 2019 period

On the basis of the Rules of Ljubljana Stock Exchange and the Financial Instruments Market Act RS, Luka Koper d.d. publishes the maritime throughput and revenues (incomplete data) for the January – March 2019 period.

The total maritime throughput was in the first quarter slightly lower, compared to the same period of 2018 and some cargo groups registered high fluctuations. However, net revenues are showing a stable trend and registered an increase of 8 percent.

On the car segment we registered a significant decrease in volumes, which can be attributed to the unusually high volumes in the first quarter of 2018. The car throughput has been very volatile in recent months, probably because of the situation on the global automotive market. However, the volumes of cars have been gaining since January 2019. A decrease has been registered also on the dry bulk segment, mostly because of a failure on a customer's facility, who uses port of Koper as a supply point. Other cargo groups registered positive trend and especially the container stuffing/stripping – an additional service provided in the container logistics – is getting stronger. In

the next months we expect that larger vessels should be deployed on one of the two the weekly ocean services which are connecting Koper with the Far East.
