दि.१७ (प्रतिनिधी) मंबईसह कोकण किनारपट्टीला 'तोक्ते' या चक्रीवादळाचा जबरदस्त तडाखा बसला. मुंबईत 'तोक्ते' चक्रीवादळामुळे अनेक ठिकाणी विविध प्रकारचे नकसान झालेले बघायला मिळाले. 'तोक्ते' चक्रीवादळाचा प्रभाव पाहता संभाव्य धोक्याचा इशारा प्रशासनाला मिळाला होता. चक्रीवादळाच्या संभाव्य धोक्यामुळे मुंबईतील विमानसेवा, मोनोरेल्वे आणि लोकलसेवा काही काळ प्रभावित झाल्या होत्या. चक्रीवादळाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर मुंबईतील छत्रपती शिवार्ज महाराज आंतरराष्ट्रीय विमानतळ काही काळ बंद ठेवण्यात आले होते. तसेच वरळी सी लिंकवरील वाहतूकही काही काळासाठी थांबवण्यात आली होती. दरम्यान, चक्रीवादळाचा प्रभाव लक्षात घेता सोमवारी शहरात १२० किमी प्रतितास वेगाने वारे वाहण्याची शक्यता हवामान खात्याने वर्तवली होती.

शहरात अनेक ठिकाणी झाल्याचे समोर आले महापालिका प्रशासनाने दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार शहरात एकूण १५६ ठिकाणी झाडे उन्मळून पडल्याच्या तक्रारी पालिकेकडे प्राप्त झाल्या होत्या. चक्रीवादळाच्या तडाख्यात मंबईतील सर्वात मोठ्या 'कोविड सेंटर'पैकी एक असलेल्या 'बीकेसी'मधील 'कोविड सेंटर'लादेखील फटका बसला आहे. मुंबई, दि. १७ (प्रतिनिधी): सरकारी नोकरीमध्ये असलेल्या पदोन्नतीमधील आरक्षण महाविकास आघाडी सरकारने रद्द केले. त्यामुळे राज्यात मागासवर्गीय समाजामध्ये महाविकास आघाडी सरकार विरोधात तीव्र नाराजी व्यक्त होत आहेत. त्यातच सोमवार, दि. १७ मे रोजी भाजप आमदार गोपीचंद पडळकर यांनी उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांना खरमरीत पत्र लिहिले आहे. ''बहजनांचे हक्क आणि अधिकार हे तुम्हाला बारामतीची जहांगिर वाटतात का? कदाचित तुम्हाला काही खास अधिकाऱ्यांचीच सोय लावून वसूली वाढवायची आहे का?" असा सवाल करत, सरकारने काढलेल्या निर्णयाकडे लक्ष वेधले. मागासवर्गीय प्रवर्गातील पदे रिक्त ठेऊन केवळ खुल्या प्रवर्गातील रिक्त पदोन्नतीची पदे भरण्याचा काळजीपूर्वक निर्णय घेतला. परंतु, तुमच्या प्रस्थापितांच्या महाविकास आघाडी सरकारने या निर्णयाला केराची टोपली दाखवली आणि सर्वात पहिल्यांदा १८ फेब्रुवारी, २०२१ ला अन्यायकारक शासन निर्णय काढून मागासवर्गीयांच्या आरक्षणाचा कोणताही विचार न करता सेवाज्येष्ठतेनुसार पदोन्नती भरण्याचे निर्देश दिले होते. दादा, तमचा पक्ष आपल्याच पै–पाहण्यांचा आणि त्यांच्याच हिताचा विचार करणारा आहे, त्याविषयी माझी काही तक्रार नाही, पण तुम्ही आता महत्त्वाच्या वैधानिक पदावर आहात, याचे भान ठेवावे व सर्वसमावेशक निर्णय घेतले पाहिजे, पण दर्दैवाने असे घडत नाही. तुम्हाला आमचे हक्क म्हणजे सापशिडीचा खेळ वाटतोय का? की बारामतीची जहांगिरी?'' असा सवाल देखील पडळकर यांनी पत्रातून विचारला आहे. तसेच ''आरक्षणाची गळचेपी करणारा शासन निर्णय काढणाऱ्या प्रस्थापितांच्या राज्य सरकारचा मी निषेध करतो, धिक्कार करतो,'' असेही पडळकर यावेळी म्हणाले.
