Tourism in line with epidemiological measures

Press release: VERY GOOD JULY FIGURES FOR JADRAN, HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR AUGUST

Crikvenica, 8 August, 2020 - This year's July brought the Crikvenica-based hotel company Jadran d.d. 78 percent of the figures reported on the same period last year and a very good occupancy rate, while the numbers seen in early August give rise to optimism.

Crikvenica's hotel company Jadran d.d., the leading tourism, hotel and catering company on the Central Adriatic Coast, this year in July recorded 78 percent of the figures reported on the same period last year. In the first seven months of the year the total operating income reached 53 percent of the result achieved last year. These numbers are very satisfying in view of the fact that Esplanade was the first hotel to open its door in Crikvenica after the epidemiological situation in Croatia enabled the hospitality businesses to reopen and the first guests arrived on 29 May. All properties operated by Jadran d.d. are fully operational, except for three smaller properties i.e. the Zagreb, International and Delfin hotels with a total of 141 hotel rooms. In addition to hotels and campsites in its collection, Jadran d.d. acquired three new hotels: Lišanj, Noemia in Baška Voda and Garden Palace Resort in Umag. All three properties, with a total of 343 rooms and 4* suites, opened their doors to guests in June and July.

'Despite the coronavirus pandemic and restrictive measures, we at Jadran had resumed intensive pre-season preparations believing that July, August and September will bring visitors and good financial results. Given the circumstances, we are glad to have been able to complete our investments and upgrades of rooms and amenities to a higher category, which enabled us to achieve over 75% of the last year's numbers. Our occupancy rate is still good and I believe that this year's season will exceed the summer 2020 tourism forecasts made during the lockdown', explains Jadran d.d. COB Goran Fabris.
