JUNE AND JULY RESULTS UP BY 1/5 COMPARED TO LAST YEAR

Crikvenica, August 8, 2019 – In June and July this year, the hotels and camps of Jadran d.d., Crikvenica, and Club Adriatic d.o.o., Makarska, recorded an increase in business results by 1/5 compared to the same period of 2018, despite a reduction in the number of tourists and realized overnight stays.

According to the data from the Croatian National Tourist Board, in the first two months of the 2019 peak tourist season on the Adriatic coast Croatia recorded a smaller number of tourists compared to the same period the year before, most particularly in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Despite the reduction in the number of tourist arrivals and realized overnight stays, Jadran d.d. hotels and camps operating on the Crikvenica Riviera and the facilities of Club Adriatic, Makarska, which also operate as part of Jadran d.d., achieved significantly better business results in June and July this year compared to the same period last year. To be more exact, in June and July of 2019 Jadran d.d. recorded an increase in revenue by 21 and 23 percent respectively, along with a significant increase in profitability.

"This is a result of the changes made within our Group during the preparations for this year's peak tourist season. Significant investments, involving the majority of our hotels and camps, were made with the aim of improving accommodation conditions and guest comfort, as well as for the purpose of raising the level of our services and the related amenities. We have also adapted our work organization model in the effort to increase the efficiency of all our employees," said Jadran d.d. CEO Goran Fabris, pointing out that the positive operating trend has continued in August as well.

interest in the Company from the Government, entrusted the running of the Company to the new management, and decided to invest around HRK 450 million in the development of the Company. Jadran d.d. currently manages ten hotels of different categories and three camps in the area of Crikvenica and Makarska. Together with the pavilions and annexes of certain hotels, the Company offers more than 1,600 hotel accommodation units to its guests, while the camps offer accommodation on more than 1,100 parcels.

Furthermore, some of our accommodation facilities started the new season with a renovated and refreshed appearance, such as the luxury Katarina Hotel in Selce that now has a newly renovated southern façade and a new indoor pool in the wellness center. The Katarina Hotel now also boasts a renovated outdoor pool complex. It extends on more than 1,000 sq m, which makes it one of the biggest outdoor pool complexes in this part of the Riviera, and is open to external guests.

All accommodation units of the Omorika Hotel, together with the newly built annexes, and the Ad Turres Pavilions got a whole new look this spring. So far, approximately HRK 130 million has been invested in the renovation and furnishing of the mentioned facilities and, according to Jadran d.d. CEO Goran Fabris, the Company plans to continue with the said investments in the fall, when the peak tourist season winds down.
