Linius Australia appoints world class CEO, Mr. Christopher Richardson.

Extensive Silicon Valley Technology start-up experience.

Significant expertise in transformative video-centric technologies.

Firestrike Resources Limited (ASX code: FIE) has been informed that Linius (Aust) Pty Ltd ( Linius ), an Australian company that has rights to a developed, patented method and system for providing video content on a data network connected device having a display and device controller, has appointed Chris Richardson as CEO , effective immediately.

Firestrike has completed the due diligence to acquire 100% of the issued shares in Linius with a Notice of Meeting to approve the acquisition planned for release to shareholders later in December 2015.

Linius provided the following information on Chris Richardson’s appointment.

Chris will be responsible for all aspects of operations, primarily focused on:

• maintaining and expanding the extensive global patent portfolio

• developing the core Linius technology platform

• delivering ‘showcase’ deployments in each chosen market vertical

• commercialisation

Christopher W. Richardson is an entrepreneur with over 20 year’s experience managing technology companies.

Chris comments “I have dedicated my career to innovation in technology, starting in the US Silicon Valley start-up arena before working in Europe and Asia in Video based technologies. It was an easy decision to move to Australia and take up this role as the Linius proposition has the potential to transform all aspects of the global video broadcasting market.”

Mr. Richardson’s background is primarily with deep technology companies, and has covered all aspects of the video pipeline, from capture and editing, to encoding and transcoding, to workflow, to storage and delivery. In addition to his understanding of the video business in particular, his strong background in product management, which spans carrier-grade embedded software, QoS algorithms, and core Internet technologies such as multicast routing, MPLS, and switching, puts him in a unique position to understand the efforts required for commercialization of Linius’ patent portfolio.

Previously, Mr. Richardson served in executive roles for a number of technology companies, including KIT digital, U4EA Wireless, and NextHop Technologies.

Prior to NextHop technologies, Mr. Richardson was a software engineer at MERIT Networks, and a guest lecturer on Internet Routing at St. Petersburg State Technical University in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he focused on multicast — a key technology for Internet video.

Chris studied mathematics and philosophy at the University of Michigan, where he won the William S. Branstrom Prize for academic excellence and Evelyn O. Bychinsky Award for excellence in mathematics.
