STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENTS

On 28 August, Aer Lingus announced a leasing agreement with CityJet to operate flights between Dublin and London City Airport from 28 October. CityJet will provide aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance to Aer Lingus for the purpose of operating up to six daily return services. This will enable Aer Lingus to offer up to 50 daily flights between Dublin and London.

On 29 August, British Airways announced that four additional Embraer E190 aircraft will join the BA CityFlyer fleet during 2019. This will bring the total fleet number to 26 and add nearly 20 per cent more seats from London City Airport next year.

On 14 August, Iberia and its pilots signed a new collective agreement which will be in place until 2021. This will enable Iberia to continue with its growth plan while remaining competitive.
