PRIMA BIOMED APPOINTS NEW CFO

Australian healthcare company Prima BioMed Ltd (ASX: PRR) (Prima) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Bangs as the Company’s new Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Bangs’ appointment is effective from today, and with the continued strong growth in Prima’s business, he will play a key role in the Company’s corporate management team.

He has a strong depth of experience and expertise in the financial management of publicly listed companies, with more than 25 years experience in senior finance positions with companies across a diverse range of industries.

Mr Bangs has previously held the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for a number of ASX-listed companies, including property and funds management group LandMark White Limited (ASX: LMW) and, prior to that, IFC Capital Limited (ASX: IFC) for 6.5 years.

He was also the CFO of the Four Seasons Hotel (formerly the Regent Hotel) in Sydney for a period of 10 years.

Mr Bangs has specific expertise in the day to day financial and administrative operations of companies, together with their statutory reporting and compliance obligations.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Fellow CPA.

About CVac™ Ovarian Cancer Treatment

CVac™ is Prima BioMed’s lead product. It is of key importance as there is a large un-met medical need for new treatments for ovarian cancer which has a very high morbidity rate. CVac™ is a maintenance therapy administered post-surgery and post-chemotherapy to delay relapse and control metastases.

There are currently no products available as maintenance based therapies for ovarian cancer and the global market for ovarian cancer therapeutics was valued at US$2.1b in 2007 and is expected to total US$3.6b by 2010.

Regulatory approval and commercialisation of CVac™ is the core focus for Prima.
