NEW BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Australian health care company Prima BioMed Limited (ASX: PRR) (Prima) is pleased to announce the following appointments to its Board today.

The Company’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Neil Frazer was appointed to the Board as an executive director. His appointment coincides with Prima’s expanding clinical programs for its CVac[TM ] ovarian cancer therapy vaccine.

Mr Martin Rogers, Prima’s Chief Executive Officer, was reappointed to the Board as Managing Director.

Mr Albert Wong, who was appointed a non-executive director of Prima in April, was appointed to the role of Chairman of the Company on an interim basis. The Company is currently in negotiation with an external candidate for the role and anticipates the appointment of a new Chairman in due course.

Prima is also pleased to announce that it has just confirmed the enrolment of its first patient for its Phase IIb clinical trial for CVac[TM] with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Company also continues to prepare for its Phase III trial for CVac[TM ] in Europe, which is expected to commence patient enrolment in 2011.

Dr Neil Frazer

Dr Frazer was appointed the Company’s chief medical officer in November 2009. He is based in the United States, and plays a key role in overseeing Prima’s late-stage trials for its CVac™ ovarian cancer treatment vaccine.

Dr Frazer has more than 23 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including 10 years experience in oncology drug development, and has a strong depth of expertise in managing the clinical development process of new drug applications. He has been involved in the successful applications for 10 new chemical entities in multiple therapeutic areas, plus more than 20 applications for line extensions of pharmaceutical drug applications.

Dr Frazer has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Edinburgh Medical School, and has a Fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in London (FRCA) and a Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians.

About CVac™ Ovarian Cancer Treatment

CVac™ is Prima BioMed’s lead product. It is of key importance as there is a large unmet medical need for new treatments for ovarian cancer which has a very high morbidity rate. CVac™ is a maintenance therapy administered post-surgery and post-chemotherapy to delay relapse and control metastases.

There are currently no products available as maintenance based therapies for ovarian cancer and the global market for ovarian cancer therapeutics was valued at US$2.1b in 2007 and is expected to total US$3.6b this year.
