IMMURON APPOINTS STEWART WASHER AS A NON-EXEC DIRECTOR

Melbourne, Australia, 8 February 2012 : A u stralian bio p harmaceutical company Immuron Li m ited (ASX: I M C) has app o inted Dr St e wart Washer as a non-e x ecutive director. This a p pointment c o ntinues Immuro n ’s transfor m ation to a c o mmercially f o cused com p any.

Dr Was h er is curren t ly the invest m ent manager with IB M a nagers, a h i ghly succes s ful biotechnology fund inv e sting in clin i cal stage A u stralasian b i otech comp a nies. He is a lso a non-e x ecutive director of Healthli n x Ltd (ASX: HTX), and venture partn e r with Nestlé’s Inventag e s Fund.

Dr Was h er has considerable experience in n e gotiating su c cessful co m mercial part n erships an d license agreem e nts in Austr a lia and the r est of the w o rld. He has 15 years’ senior executi v e and board experie n ce in comm e rcial techn o logy compa n ies, medica l , food, agric u ltural and i n dustrial sectors.

He has r aised over $ 50 million in private sha r eholder and government funds to inv e st in his co m panies and wa s a founder of a $120 mill i on life scien c e fund. He was previously Chairman of R esonance H ealth Limite d and promi s ing head lic e treatment c ompany Hatchte c h Pty Ltd. D r Washer was also on t h e AusBiote c h Board and the Senate a t Murdoch University.

The ap p ointment of D r Washer c o incides wit h the expans i on of comm e rcialisation a ctivities by the compan y . In particul a r the comp a ny has agg r essive com m ercial expa n sion plans f o r its highly e ffective Travela n travellers’ d iarrhoea pr o duct.
