IMMURON ANNOUCES BOARD CHANGES AS COMMERCIALISATION STRATEGY MOVES FORWARD

8th October 2012, Melbourne, Australia : Australian biopharmaceutical company Immuron Limited (ASX: IMC), today announced that Professor Colin Chapman is stepping down as non‐ executive Chairman and Board member due to extensive personal commitments.

Dr Roger Aston, who was appointed to the Board in May this year, has been appointed non‐ executive Chairman. Dr Elane Zelcer, a director since 2009, has been appointed non‐executive Deputy Chairman.

Dr Aston has more than 20 years’ experience in the biotechnology industry. With Travelan gaining more traction in international markets and Immuron’s research and development programs progressing, Dr Aston’s strong background in product development as well as manufacturing, product registration and commercialization, brings relevant and valuable expertise and experience to lead the company through the next phases of its development.

Professor Chapman said: “After a long and very enjoyable involvement with Immuron, I feel it is now time to step aside from my role as a director of the company, and as Chairman. I have every confidence in the management team to continue to lead this company, and I fully endorse Immuron’s strategy and products. It is exciting to see Travelan finding its way onto the world market, and I know that further successes lie just around the corner.”

Dr Aston commented “While Immuron is sad to lose Colin as a valued Board member, we extend our thanks to him for his contributions to the Board and its Committees over many years as a member of the scientific advisory committee, and more recently as a Director. We wish Colin well in all his future endeavors and look forward to his continuing involvement as a Scientific Advisor to our R&D programs.”

Dr Aston also said, “Immuron has certainly had challenging periods in its past, however with Travelan being a great product and the fact that we are witnessing growth in the international markets for Travelan, I believe the company will be on a secure footing for the next stages of expansion”
