Company Announcement Office Australian Stock Exchange Ltd (ASX) 4th Floor, 20 Bridge Street Sydney NSW 2000
Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find herewith a company announcement "Enterovirus 71 Protective Therapy - Key Project Result" for release and distribution to the market immediately.
On Behalf Of ANADIS LIMITED
CONOR GRAHAM Managing Director & CEO
ENTEROVIRUS 71 PROTECTIVE THERAPY - KEY PROJECT RESULT
Anadis Limited (ASX:ANX) is pleased to announce the success of obtaining preventative protein bioactives against Enterovirus 71 (EV-71) from dairy cows. This result confirms that the positive laboratory outcomes previously achieved in rabbit models can now be transposed to a large scale manufacturing methodology. This success means that a natural and effective preventative product against EV-71 is now in the advanced stages of development.
In addition, much of the dairy collection and processing already developed by Anadis can now be used for the EV71 protective therapy, a finding which greatly enhances the feasibility of product delivery on a commercial scale. This capacity to access large quantities of preventative protein bioactives also allows regulatory compliance and tertiary manufacturing issue to now be actively pursued.
That this significant milestone was achieved at first attempt is a testament to the standard of dedication and work done by the Anadis scientific team during the conceptual and laboratory phases over the last two years.
The need to control Enterovirus 71, especially in Taiwan has once again been highlighted with the infection of fifty children and the tragic death of five, during a current outbreak of the disease, which is set to peak in approximately 2 weeks time.

It should also be noted that outbreaks this year have also occurred in Hong Kong and China.
The EV-71 Project
The $EV - 71$ project is a joint research and product development collaboration between Anadis limited and the Development Center For Biotechnology (DCB) in Taiwan with the aim of developing a natural and effective preventative against EV-71.
About Enterovirus 71
Enterovirus 71, a polio like disease, is one of the viruses that cause 'hand, foot and mouth' or 'slapped cheek' disease in young children. Mild symptoms usually include a rash and quieter than normal behavior, while a significant proportion of younger children can develop nervous signs such as fits, paralysis and even death. Fatalities can occur for approximately one quarter of the children affected by the severe form of the disease.
Enterovirus 71 isn't as yet well known in Australia; however in the Asia-Pacific region – mainly Taiwan and China – major outbreaks are becoming increasingly common. Enterovirus 71 is an emerging 'disease state', and medical authorities are comparing the disease with the spread of polio in Europe and North America in the late 19th century. Outbreaks of Enterovirus 71 are mainly confined to Asia but have recently been reported in Europe and Australia.
