Hansen Technologies announces second HUB solution sale in Japan

Hansen Technologies Limited (Hansen) announces that, in conjunction with its distribution partner Toshiba Solutions Corporation (Toshiba), it has been successful in securing its second sale of the HUB network solution into Japan.

This latest sale to Hokkaido Electric Power Co. Inc (HEPCO) follows on from the recently announced sale to the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and will represent the second major implementation of the Hansen HUB network solution in the Japanese region.

HEPCO is the sole provider of power to the island of Hokkaido in Northern Japan, supplying electricity to more than 3 million services, many of which will be affected by the level of competition to be introduced on April 1, 2005. To meet its obligations, HEPCO requires a solution able to rapidly introduce innovative offerings, including new systems and procedures to enable multiple retailers to compete for business in Northern Japan.

The HEPCO project is valued initially at AUD 1 million and comprises a licence to the HUB billing system for the first 500 sites that are scheduled to switch to a new supplier. As competition grows and more consumers switch supplier the HUB licence revenue is adapted to grow.
