ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

3 June 2004

Alinta Signs Contract with Hansen

Hansen Technologies Limited (Hansen), a listed information systems and services group, today announced that contracts to the value of \$4.2 million have been signed with Alinta Limited for the supply. implementation and maintenance of a Network Management Information System (NMIS), including a contestable market gateway, to address the needs of Alinta Gas Networks.

The implementation of NMIS positions Alinta Gas Networks for full retail contestable operations as the Western Australia Gas market opens in June 2004. The NMIS solution is based on Hansen's Hub product. Hub provides the network functions of meter and consumption data management, network billing, market settlement, and market obligations reporting. It also provides a gateway for Alinta's interaction with the Western Australia Gas Contestable Market operator.

The NMIS implementation at Alinta will be the third implementation of the Hub solution for network businesses in the Australian market, which continues to demonstrate the strength of the system's consumption data management and network billing capabilities.

Peter Magarry, General Manager Alinta Network Services said, "We selected Hansen because we felt that the combination of the NMIS solution and Hansen's expertise and commitment to delivery gave us the best chance of meeting the Western Australian market opening." Cathy Bibby, Alinta's Chief Information Officer added. "Hansen is a company that we felt we could work with, that had presence and a good reputation in the market place, and that had the credentials and culture to become one of our strategic partners."

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Andrew Hansen, Chief Executive Officer of Hansen said, "Alinta is a dynamic company and Hansen is looking forward to the establishment of a long and successful relationship. This agreement further demonstrates and reinforces Hansen's position as a leading provider of network solutions and we believe there are significant opportunities for further implementations of the system both locally and globally."
