Appointment of new Exploration Manager

Bass Metals Ltd (ASX:BSM) is pleased to report that Mr Kim Denwer has been appointed as Bass Metals’ Exploration Manager responsible for all of the Company’s exploration activities.

He joins BSM from Thai Goldfields NL where for the past three years he has overseen the exploration for gold, base metals, tungsten and tin in the position of Chief Geologist. Kim has 21 years experience as an exploration geologist working in many varied geological terrains exploring for a range of mineral commodities. Particularly relevant to the company’s present activities in NW Tasmania; Kim has considerable exploration experience in the Mount Read Volcanic belt (which hosts the Hellyer and Que River projects) where he has held several senior geological positions with RGC–Goldfields Exploration and Pasminco Exploration. Kim holds a Master of Economic Geology and a first Class Honours degree, both awarded from the University of Tasmania.

Kim contributes a wealth of varied international and Australian exploration experience and I look forward to working closely with him to evaluate new business opportunities in Tasmania and beyond. He will commence with the Company on 1[st] September 2008, and replaces Dr Travis Murphy who remains with the company in a senior technical role. Travis has made a significant contribution to the Company’s exploration success to date and with Kim’s input I look forward to increasing the exploration momentum to generate further positive results to grow our mining business.
