The following is a Company announcement issued by GO p.l.c. ("the Company") pursuant to Malta Financial Services Authority Listing Rules.
The Company announces that the Board of Directors of the Company has today accepted the resignation of Mr. David Kay from his post as Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of the Company. Mr. Kay will be relinquishing his post for personal reasons on the 7 th September 2012.
The Company further announces that the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Yiannos Michaelides holder of Cypriot Passport number C312917 as Deputy CEO with immediate effect, and that he will be assuming the role of Company CEO with effect from the 7th September 2012. In the interim, Mr. Kay will be handing over his responsibilities to Mr. Michaelides.
Mr. Michaelides is currently the Company's Interim Chief Commercial Officer and resides at 10 Pnytagora Street, Apt 401 Engomi, P.C. 2406, Nicosia, Cyprus. Prior to his appointment with the Company, Mr. Michaelides was the Senior Executive at EITL in Dubai, the Company's main shareholder, with responsibilities including portfolio management and value creation at EITL portfolio companies. Before joining EITL he worked as Vice President of Strategic Marketing at du in Dubai, the new integrated telecoms operator in the UAE. Prior to joining du he worked for Areeba, the second mobile operator in Cyprus, where he held the position of Sales & Marketing Director. From 1987 to 2001, he worked with Nortel Networks where he held various management positions both in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Mr. Yiannos Michaelides holds a B.Eng (Honours), M.Eng from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) and an M.B.A. with distinction from Warwick Business School (UK).
There are no other matters concerning Mr. Michaelides that need to be disclosed in terms of the Listing Rules.
