National essential power and communications infrastructure provider GenusPlus Group Ltd (ASX: GNP) ( Genus or the Company ) has been awarded additional works under a variation of its contract with Western Power for the Clean Energy Link – North Region project ( CELN Project ) which was announced on 10 January 2025.

As announced on 10 January 2025, the CELN Project will:

  • include new 330kV & 132kV terminal builds within the existing network footprint to significantly increase transmission capacity and enable new energy sources to come online, as well as existing line conversions and reinforcement work to significantly improve the flow of renewable energy to and from the area.

The variation for the additional works is approximately $60 million and includes 330kV Regans Terminal reinforcement works, 330kV Northern Terminal - augmentation of 132kV transmission lines and the provision for augmentation of existing distribution assets. The scheduled completion of the contract under which the additional works will be performed remains unchanged and is expected to be mid-2027.

Genus Managing Director, David Riches, said Genus was very pleased with the award of the additional works as it continues to develop its long-standing relationship with Western Power.

Genus is very pleased to have been awarded these additional works for the CELN Project by Western Power, and is looking forward to delivering them safely, on time and on budget as it continues to deliver quality work for Western Power as a trusted delivery partner .

Western Power Chief Executive Officer, Sam Barbaro, said “ Western Power is working at pace to help ensure that our network continues to grow and transition to cater for increased volumes of renewable energy to facilitate government, the community and industry reach their decarbonisation goals.

We are working with suppliers, including Genus, to ensure that infrastructure components are sourced locally in line with our commitment to building WA’s capability and maximising local economic benefits.”
