GENUSPLUS AWARDED 33KV DISTRIBUTION WORKS TO SUPPORT FORTESCUE’S DECARBONISATION STRATEGY

Genus has secured a package to design and construct 33kV power distribution infrastructure, as a part of Fortescue Ltd’s (Fortescue) greater decarbonation strategy.

National essential power and communications infrastructure provider GenusPlus Group Ltd (ASX: GNP) ( Genus or the Company ) has been awarded a contract for the design, construction and commissioning of approximately 41 kilometres of underground and overhead power distribution infrastructure at Fortescue’s Eliwana and Flying Fish mine sites.
Fortescue is committed to decarbonising its operations in mining, port, rail, non-process Infrastructure (NPI) and mobile fleet in the Pilbara in Western Australia to achieve real zero terrestrial emissions by 2030. Fortescue’s decarbonisation plan includes development of green power generation.
Genus will undertake design and construction of overhead and underground 33kV power distribution infrastructure which include poles, underground power cable, overhead line conductor, OPGW and associated hardware, with a contract sum of approximately $28 million.
Genus will engage approximately 40 personnel who are set to commence project delivery immediately, with works estimated to conclude in the fourth quarter of 2025.
