GTG Grants Further License to Monsanto
Genetic Technologies Limited (ASX: GTG; NASDAQ: GENE) is pleased to report it has now granted Monsanto Company, based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, a further license, this time for applications of the GTG non-coding patents to swine.
In June 2007, GTG reported to ASX it had granted a first license to Monsanto for applications in plants. That first license was part of a legal settlement of various past disagreements between GTG and Monsanto, at which time Monsanto also paid GTG US$5 million in cash. Monsanto now pays GTG a further US$1 million. The other terms of this legal settlement between GTG and Monsanto are covered by corporate confidentiality and cannot be disclosed.
The parties have also agreed to explore additional ways of working together.
GTG will provide further details to the Market, as appropriate.
