AIX passenger numbers record solid growth for February
Australian Infrastructure Fund (AIX) today reported its airport passenger numbers for the month ended 29 February 2012, with AIX-weighted passenger numbers increasing 6.4 percent compared with the prior corresponding period (pcp).[1] While the headline result was strong, this growth was supported by an additional leap year day in the month of February, adding approximately 3.6 percent in growth.[2]
Domestic traffic grew 7.4 percent, with the continuing strength in passenger numbers at Perth Airport a highlight for the month of February. Queensland Airports Limited experienced 8.1 percent growth in domestic traffic for the month, against a pcp that was affected by natural disasters in the region. Domestic passengers through NT Airports also exhibited solid growth, increasing 7.0 percent on pcp.
