Strong monthly passenger growth continues

Australian Infrastructure Fund (AIX) today reported solid growth at its airports in November with AIXweighted passenger numbers increasing by 6.8% across its portfolio compared with the same period last year.

Perth, Gold Coast and Melbourne airports were particular highlights, all experiencing passenger growth rates above 7 percent. Whilst Athens continues to be affected by a challenging economic environment, Dusseldorf and Hamburg airports continued to deliver strong passenger growth.

AIX Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Pollock, said that strong passenger numbers in the month of November reinforced the consistent growth trend being experienced by AIX’s airport portfolio.

“It is pleasing to see solid passenger growth being maintained and the planned developments at our Australian airports should add to the momentum in 2011,” Mr Pollock said.
