Northern Territory Airports secures $350 million of new bank facilities

Northern Territory Airports Pty Ltd (NTA), owner and operator of Darwin International Airport, Alice Springs Airport and Tennant Creek Airport, has announced that it has entered into new senior debt facilities with Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd, National Australia Bank Ltd and Westpac Banking Corporation totalling $350 million.

The new senior debt facilities, which were achieved on competitive terms, allow NTA to refinance its debt facilities due to expire in January 2012 amounting to $225 million and secures new capital expenditure facilities of $125 million.

AIX Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Pollock, said, “These debt facilities will allow NTA to refund its expiring debt on competitive terms, fund its planned aeronautical capital expenditure requirements, which are underpinned by long term pricing arrangements, and provides flexibility to invest in accretive car parking and retail opportunities as they arise at the NTA airports. This is a significant achievement and we congratulate the NTA management team."

NTA was advised by RBC Capital Markets.

AIX holds a 28.2 percent interest in NTA.
