Port of Portland completes refinance of existing debt facilities

Hastings Funds Management Limited, as Manager and Responsible Entity for the Australian Infrastructure Fund (AIX), today confirmed the completion of the refinancing of Port of Portland’s existing senior secured debt facility. The facility of A$64.3 million, which is fully drawn, has a term of three years. The facility is provided jointly by Australia and New Zealand Banking Group and National Australia Bank.

Port of Portland Chief Executive Officer Scott Paterson said, “We are very pleased to have completed this important financing with our existing relationship bank, National Australia Bank, and also to introduce a new relationship with Australia and New Zealand Banking Group to our business.”

With the completion of the Port of Portland refinance, AIX’s assets have no further material debt facilities maturing in calendar year 2010 (excluding HTAC amortising debt, which is not required to be refinanced).

AIX owns 50.0 percent of Port of Portland, which represents 4.7 percent of the AIX portfolio (based on the latest independent valuations conducted as at 31 December 2009).
