Appointment of Hastings Funds Management Chief Executive

Hastings Funds Management Limited (Hastings), as Manager and Responsible Entity of AIX, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Day as Chief Executive of Hastings, who will commence with Hastings on Monday 17 October 2011.

Andrew is an experienced Chief Executive with a track record of achievement both domestically and internationally. He brings a wealth of expertise gained from leading complex businesses across diverse industry, geography and various stages of development. In these roles Andrew has demonstrated strategic insight, leadership and stakeholder management skills which will be of great benefit to Hastings and its investors.

The Chairman of Hastings, Alan Cameron AO, said, “We are delighted that Andrew has chosen to join Hastings. Andrew was identified through a broad global search, and we believe his extensive senior executive experience, along with his history of successfully building businesses and teams, places Hastings in a strong position for the next stage of its growth. Andrew’s business management and leadership skills will complement those of our investment professionals across the firm”.

Andrew was until recently Chief Executive of Eircom Holdings Limited, an investment company which managed interests in the Irish telecommunications business Eircom and the Israeli directories business Golden Pages. Prior to this, Andrew was Chief Executive and then Chairman of Truvo, a private equity owned company based in Europe, which managed a complex portfolio of companies.

Prior to joining Truvo, Andrew held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Sensis in Australia where he was responsible for transforming and building Sensis into Australia’s largest advertising and search business. In Andrew’s earlier career with Telstra Corporation, he held a range of senior roles including that of Managing Director, Commercial and Consumer Sales.

Andrew holds Bachelor degrees in both Engineering and Science (dual honours) and a Masters of Engineering Science, all from the University of Adelaide.

As well as being appointed as Chief Executive, Andrew will also become a director of Hastings.

It should be noted that Jeff Pollock continues as CEO of AIX.
