First Au Appoints New Technical Director to The Board
First Au Limited (“First Au” or “the Company”) announced today that Dr Gavin England has joined the board of the Company as Technical Director. Dr England has been spearheading First Au’s exploration effort for the past two years as Chief Consulting Geologist and under Dr England’s guidance the Company announced its maiden JORC classified gold resource of approximately 69,000 ozs at the Gimlet Gold Project near Kalgoorlie (refer ASX release dated 7 May 2019). Dr England was also instrumental in securing First Au’s acquisition of the Victorian Gold Pty Ltd (“VicGold”), which holds applications over substantial prospective gold leases in the East Gippsland region of the Victoria goldfields (refer ASX release dated 3 July 2020). On 25 September 2020, the Company announced that the flag ship VicGold Haunted Stream lease had been granted and that field work had immediately commenced.
Dr England’s appointment brings substantial technical experience to the board of First Au. Dr England hold a PhD (Geology) from the University of Western Australia and a BSc (First Class) in Geology from Curtin University, Western Australia (Dux of Year) and was a postgraduate Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He has extensive local and international experience with many mining companies including, Normandy Group, Consolidated Minerals, Gold Fields, Lion Ore, Impact Minerals, White Cliff Nickel, Energy and Minerals Australia and Magnetite Mines (previously Royal Resources).
