Oversubscribed Share Purchase Plan Closes Early

Monax Mining Limited (ASX: MOX) ( Monax ) is pleased to announce that the Company’s Share Purchase Plan ( SPP ) has been oversubscribed and will be closed early after raising approximately $1.83 million.

Applications received by mail postmarked 30 September 2009 or earlier, or moneys received by BPay up to midnight on 30 September 2009 will be accepted and scaled back. Any application monies received after the close will be refunded.

The SPP will result in the company issuing approximately 24.35 million shares, representing 30% of the company’s share capital after the recently completed placement.

The oversubscribed SPP together with the recently completed Placement to sophisticated investors has raised a total of approximately $2.6 million before costs, strongly capitalising the company going forward.

The money raised via the Placement and SPP will be used to progress exploration at Punt Hill and Kangaroo Island as well as providing capital to retain Monax’s interest in the Melton Project joint venture after Marmota Energy Limited has reached its 50% expenditure level. Funds will also be used to assess new projects.
