FireFly Appoints Highly Experienced Financial Executive as Director
Appointment further diversifies FireFly’s Board expertise in financial matters and risk management in addition to its strong exploration, development and mining skill set
FireFly Metals Ltd ( ASX: FFM ) is pleased to announce that it continues to broaden the skills and expertise of its Board and Management team with the appointment of highly experienced company director and finance industry executive Renée Roberts as a NonExecutive Director, effective 23 July 2024.
Ms Roberts has previously held C-Suite roles at large corporations including National Australia Bank, QBE, Bank of New Zealand and the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority.
Ms Roberts has considerable experience in risk management, financial services, governance, regulation, transformation, technology and digitisation, business growth and efficiency, strategic leadership, operations, strategy development and execution.
She is currently a Director of Collingwood Football Club and Chair of the Club’s Risk and Integrity Committee.
Ms Roberts holds a Master of Applied Finance and Bachelor of Business and studied the advanced management program at Harvard Business School.
FireFly Chair Kevin Tomlinson said the appointment reflected the Company’s growth from an emerging explorer to a substantial copper group.
“To attract a high performing Director such as Renée speaks volumes about the quality of the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project,” Mr Tomlinson said.
“Renée’s experience will be invaluable as we advance Green Bay and assess a range of commercial options and agreements.
“Importantly, Renée’s appointment also means that the FireFly Board now has a majority of Independent Directors”.
FireFly Metals will now look to form key Committees of the Board, including an Audit and Risk Management Committee, Remuneration and Nomination Committee and Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee.
